Our Customers are now able to pay for some washers and dryers by contactless debit/credit card, Googlepay and Apple Pay via your mobile phone. This is ideal for when the launderette is unattended or you simply prefer the convenience of not handling cash. Unlike some of these facilities there is no surcharge to the customer for using this facility. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you used coins instead. We hope this new facility is of benefit to our customers.

This includes a modern, clean spacious launderette with up to date and reliable machinery. As we operate commercial machines, capacity is greater which is perfect for washing and drying large duvets and loads and washing and drying times are quicker.
For example our largest dryer can take 4 times the amount of laundry a domestic dryer can handle all in 1 hour!

What time is the launderette open for self service?
Clock Wash Launderette is open 7 days a week. 6am to 9pm. Last wash is 8.15pm.
What are the benefits of using a launderette compared to a domestic washing machine?
Launderettes have gone through something of a renaissance in recent years. The main reason for this is convenience. The average domestic washing machine at home takes about 2 hours on a normal cycle. Whereas the average washing cycle at Clock Wash Launderette is between 30-50mins. Also launderettes have larger washing machines, even our smallest machines are about 1.5 times the size of a typical domestic machine.
Commercial dryers are also bigger and cost less than using your own dryer. You will be amazed how much you can save on your electricity bill at home.
Especially with high energy prices, many of our launderette customers like the certainty of paying as you go for laundry rather than ending up with a large bill at the end of the month.
Are launderettes a bit run down?
It is true that some launderettes have a reputation as a bit run down. Here at Clock Wash we are totally different. We offer a modern, clean spacious launderette with up to date efficient machinery and security cameras. Also because we are attended service wash there is usually someone to help you if you get stuck. With magazines to read or people to chat to whilst your clothes wash, it can be a sociable time whilst you get one of your chores done!
Do I have to bring my own soap powder?
You can if you wish or we can provide soap powder (bio or non-bio as requested) by the cup. 50p per cup. Fabric conditioner is also available. In addition we now offer for sale a range of popular detergents which are both sensitive to skin and also provide excellent sanitizing. These are available to purchase during attended hours.
